MIT Creates World’s First Psychopathic AI Named Norman

Dubbed Norman, this is not your typical artificial intelligence system.

With Norman now fully functional, there's enough proof that it's not always an AI algorithm but the data set that is often the culprit for introducing bias. An algorithm itself is not unfair, biased, or negative, it's all about the information it absorbs.

Aptly named "Norman", like the character from Alfred Hitchcock's famous Psycho, the psychopath AI went on a diet of gruesome and violent content from a Reddit page known for its dark posts.

Norman, an AI programme developed by researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has been exposed to nothing but "gruesome" images of people dying that were collected from the dark corners of chat forum Reddit, according to the BBC.

Rashford stars as England beat Costa Rica in warm-up
Rashford opened the scoring for England in their final World Cup warm-up game against Costa Rica in Leeds on Thursday night. He has not partnered Harry Kane in the 352 formation yet. "I think everyone knows how tight-knit a group we are".

A team of MIT researchers have created a new AI, one that happens to be a psychopath. MIT team members Pinar Yanardag, Manuel Cebrian, and Iyad Rahwan say the study proved their theory that the data used to teach a machine learning algorithm can greatly influence its behavior.

The Rorschach test is a standard psychiatric technique which involves showing patients a series of inkblots in order to gauge their underlying thought patterns.

The team found Norman's interpretations of the imagery - which included electrocutions, speeding auto deaths and murder - to be in line with a psychotic thought process.

Norman is an AI which is specifically limited to captioning of Images, a popular deep Learning method generally referred as Image Classification in which AI provides relative text to the picture given to him.

U.S. allies ready Trump showdown as trade splits G7
The French leader said on Tuesday he would travel to Russian Federation if the national team advanced beyond the quarter-finals. Among allies, there was even been speculation that Trump might walk out of the meetings - or even decide not to show up.

You can see some of the comparisons below.

Standard AI robot observes: "A couple of people standing next to each other".

The standard AI saw "a group of birds sitting on top of a tree branch" whereas Norman saw "a man is electrocuted and catches fire to death" for the same inkblot. In 2016, Microsoft entrusted an AI chatbot, created to learn from and appeal to the youth market, to Twitter. Some argue that inkblots are not standard way to measure a person's psychological state, but what Normal sees is pretty scary and has turned evil.
