Theresa May dancing in the dark on Brexit

Theresa May

Ms May becomes the first British leader to visit sub-Saharan Africa in five years, making a three-day trip that includes meetings with the presidents of South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.

Britain supports South Africa's land reform programme - provided it is carried out legally, according to prime minister Theresa May, who is now in the country as part of a one-day working visit.

The trip - which will see Mrs May meet the presidents of all three countries - aims to deepen economic and trade ties with growing African economies ahead of Britain leaving the European Union in 2019.

The delegation will land in Cape Town today, where May will meet South African President Cyril Ramaphosa as well as business leaders and young people.

Responding to questions on the matter and whether expropriation without compensation could hurt SA's efforts to attract foreign investment, May reiterated that the United Kingdom supported land reform that is "legal and transparent".

The UK has one of the biggest overseas aid programmes in the world, expending $18 billion in 2017 alone.

The foreign minister says she's given her phone number to her U.S. counterpart Mike Pompeo to avoid a repeat of this.

She said SA and the broader African continent offered significant opportunities for investors.

Mrs May's visit to Nairobi will mark the first by a British prime minister to Kenya since Margaret Thatcher in 1988.

The shadow worldwide development secretary said: "The prime minister's vision of using the country's aid money to expand African markets for the private sector will do nothing to address the underlying causes of poverty or inequality".

Ronaldo makes winning home debut as Juventus beat Lazio
He said: "The danger today was getting swept up in the enthusiasm of the stadium for Ronaldo's first game at the stadium".

It is also the first to Africa by a British PM since David Cameron in 2013 for Nelson Mandela's memorial service.

"Because nations can not prosper without security, the prime minister will also use the visit to announce further support to tackle instability across the region", the statement read in part.

Trump said he has asked his secretary of state to look into the matter of "seizing land from white farmers".

She then heads to Nigeria, where she'll meet President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday as well as speak to victims of modern slavery.

A trip to Robben Island has also been arranged.
