WWF report reveals a 60% decline in wildlife populations since 1970

Humans are wiping out life of earth says WWF with many species in danger of disappearing

Scientists from WWF have been monitoring the decline of wildlife around the world over the last 20 years, and concluded that a wide variety is disappearing fast.

The report, released on Tuesday, paints a very grim picture of human activity on the condition of wildlife, forests, oceans, rivers and the climate.

It is stated in the report of the world wildlife Fund (WWF).

Vermont Law School professor asked to smear Mueller
But the law firm she mentioned told U.S. media outlets they have no record of anyone under her name ever working there. Hoft updated the post with a note saying the site was investigating the allegations.

"Exploding" levels of human consumption are driving the affect on nature, with over- exploitation of natural resources such as over-fishing, cutting down forests to grow crops such as soy and palm oil and the use of pesticides in agriculture. Specifically, the report monitored vertebrate species, or animals with a backbone, with database containing information on over 22,000 population of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians. It finds that the vast and growing consumption of food and resources by the global population is destroying the web of life, billions of years in the making, upon which human society ultimately depends for clean air, water and everything else.

Conservationists have issued a demand for urgent worldwide action after a major report uncovered an unprecedented crisis in nature that threatens to devastate the world economy and imperil humanity itself.

And as an added warning to the WWF report on Monday, a new study published in the journal PNAS, led by S. Blair Hedges at the Center for Biodiversity at Temple University in the US, found that less than one percent of the primary forest in Haiti remains, and that many endemic species, especially amphibians and reptiles, have been wiped out with the trees. "Wildlife around the world continue to dwindle", said Carter Roberts, president and chief executive officer of WWF-US. The numbers of freshwater wildlife species showed a dramatic decline of 83% over the same period.

But a quick match point opportunity two games later allowed Federer to close as his opponent sent a return over the baseline. Copil dropped to 0-2 in career finals, also losing this year in the championship match at Sofia.

Current action to protect nature fails to match the scale of the threat facing the planet, the conservationists claim. "It is time that we look beyond business as usual scenarios and galvanize collective action for positive change, allowing the planet an opportunity to revive itself", said Mr. Ravi Singh, Secretary General and CEO, WWF-India.

Professor Ken Norris of the Zoological Society of London, who's contributed to the report, said that while the statistics in the report are daunting, "all hope is not lost".

The WWF calls for "a new global deal for nature and people" similar to the 2015 Paris agreement to tackle climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. "We may also be the last that can act to reverse this trend, from now until 2020 will be decisive moment in history", the report stated.

Wall Street savaged by tech sell-off
At its session lows, the Dow had fallen 548.62 points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq had lost more than 2 percent each on Tuesday. Global worries included the growing worldwide pressure on Saudi Arabia over the death of Jamal Khashoggi.

The most striking decline in wildlife populations was in the tropics in South and Central America, with an 89 percent loss compared to 1970. It terrifies me that, unless we make committed and immediate change to the way we live, there will be no other option for them'. "There is a serious threat to global soil biodiversity", he said.
