May warns of catastrophe if lawmakers don't back Brexit deal

With her agreement facing nearly certain defeat in a House of Commons vote on Tuesday, May will make an 11th-hour appeal with a warning that there's now more chance of members of Parliament blocking Brexit than of Britain leaving the European Union without a deal.

Speaking on the BBC's "Andrew Marr Show" on Sunday, Corbyn said a confidence vote would be brought "at a time of our choosing, but it is going to be soon, don't worry about that".

A cross-party group of MPs, including Dominic Grieve, the former Conservative attorney general, wants Theresa May to give Parliament a greater say in deciding how Britain leaves the European Union.

Sir Vince, pictured below, said the draft legislation demonstrated how quickly a second referendum could be delivered, and put "flesh on the bones of our campaign for a final say".

May looks little closer to securing the support she needs, but writing in the Sunday Express she said lawmakers must not let down the people who voted for Brexit.

My message to Parliament this weekend is simple: it is time to forget the games and do what is right for our country. According to Bank of England analysis, such a chaotic split could hammer the pound and home prices, and plunge Britain into a recession worse than the financial crisis a decade ago.

New York Yankees Sign DJ LeMahieu, Is Machado Out?
With DJ LeMahieu nearing a 2-year deal with Yankees, Machado's chances of going to NY have narrowed further. When the former Rockie won the batting title in 2016, he hit.348 and has a career average of.298.

Labour is also set to vote against the deal, but leader Jeremy Corbyn has resisted growing calls from within his own party to get behind another European Union referendum, insisting a general election is still his top priority if the deal is rejected.

Under British electoral law, the Conservatives would have two weeks to try to form a new government after losing a confidence vote.

Under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act, Labour can call a no-confidence motion which would most likely prompt a general election if May lost it.

But a recent study of Labour members revealed that almost 90% would prefer to remain within the bloc, with 72% thinking the party's leader should fully support the campaign for a second vote.

Corbyn said he'd prefer to see a negotiated deal than a second referendum.

Senior ministers are also said to be urging May to seek a joint plan with the opposition Labour Party, raising the possibility of a significantly softer Brexit.

I think that he can do better. "I need a replacement, but I don't need an important player like Cesc unhappy here". At a club you have more time to organise. "At the moment Morata is here, so I think he has to think only to play".

Mr Blackford told the BBC programme: "I think everyone now knows that there is no such thing as a "good Brexit", there's no such thing as a "jobs-first Brexit", as some have claimed". The only deal we have is the withdrawal agreement.

Brexit Secretary Steve Barclay warned that Parliament could block Brexit altogether.

Mrs May was boosted on Thursday by two Tory backbenchers - her former policy adviser George Freeman, and Trudy Harrison - indicating they will back her deal, as well as by a call from Japanese PM Shinzo Abe for the United Kingdom to avoid no-deal.

But May is facing an uphill task to save her withdrawal agreement - forged during 18 months of talks between London and Brussels - from a crushing defeat in parliament. A narrower defeat and the bloc may look at fresh ways of making the agreement more palatable to get it across the line in Parliament.

The EU is expected to publish a letter on Monday in which the bloc will reiterate that the so-called Irish backstop arrangement, if it is triggered, will only be temporary.
